FINANCIAL PLANNING COSTS AND EXPENSES

  • Required two-year lease for new fraternity members
  • $50 fee for application/credit check (new residents only).
  • Security Deposit: Paid with signed lease. Security deposit is discounted if received by early lease signing date.
  • Monthly Single Room & Board: Last month’s rent paid with signed lease. Meal plan cost is included and is mandatory. Monthly rent is discounted if received by early lease signing date.
  • Monthly Utilities: Flat rate charged per month.
  • Fraternity Dues: Charged per semester. Utilized for social activities, Rush, athletic, philanthropic and both Colorado IFC and National Fraternity obligations. The active chapter reserves the right to adjust the dues amount.

Important Housing Information for Parents of New Pledges!
Like most CU fraternities, Sigma Nu requires that all “initiated” pledges live on property for 2 years beginning the following school year. Fall pledges and parents sign leases in mid-January to reserve rooms for the following school year. Only those pledges who formally initiate/become members of Sigma Nu will be bound to the lease agreement. Conversely, if a candidate does not initiate, the lease will be terminated.

LEASE EXECUTION TIMELINE
End of November – All future residents (NEW and Current) to complete the following:

  • Application Form: Form must have phone numbers, permanent mailing addresses, and email addresses for tenant and guarantor. If you completed an application in previous years you do not need to complete another one.
  • Guarantor Agreement: Guarantor form must be filled out and signed by legal guardian, with phone numbers, mailing addresses, and email addresses completed for both tenant and guarantor.
  • Application Fee: Fee of $50 must be paid by NEW applicants for processing/credit check. No fee is required for returning residents.

Mid-December – Deadline to complete your lease and qualify for the discounts. You MUST provide the following (NO EXCEPTIONS):

  • A fully completed lease agreement. Every page must be signed and completed.
  • Your security deposit including the last month’s rent.
  • Sunnyside Property Management at 4890 Riverbend Rd. Lower Unit B, Boulder, CO 80301 must receive these “on time” at their offices to qualify for the discounts.

Mid-January – Deadline to complete your lease and secure a room for the following school year. You MUST provide the following (NO EXCEPTIONS):

  • A fully completed lease agreement. Every page must be signed and completed.
  • Your security deposit including the last month’s rent.
  • Sunnyside Property Management at 4890 Riverbend Rd. Lower Unit B, Boulder, CO 80301 must receive these “on time” at their offices to secure a room for the following school year.
